Program Coordinator, Video Production Technology
Pellissippi State Community College
Owner – MediaShine Productions

Background
Currently I am the Program Coordinator of Video Production Department, a division of Engineering and Media Technologies in the Bagwell Center for Media and Art at Pellissippi State.

The VPT program equips students for a career in digital storytelling. Students learn techniques in all phases of production from script writing, and budgeting to shooting and editing. Working with a team of media faculty, I help develop curriculum, offering a well-rounded introduction to TV and film production. Students can concentrate in specialized areas such as shooting, editing, motion graphics, 3D design and audio production. These tracks dovetail with the other Media Technologies program areas of Photography, Communication Graphics and Web Technology.

The Video Production Technology program at Pellissippi State is guided by working professionals, and prepares students to enter the job market. Graduates will apply skills in many areas of the telecommunications industry, including broadcast, cable, satellite, corporate, educational and commercial production.

I manage two full-time faculty, three technical staff, ten to fifteen adjuncts, and approximately one hundred video students. Pellissippi State is the second largest community college in Tennessee and offers students amazing, life changing opportunities.

I have taught media courses abroad in France, Belgium and the Netherlands with the Tennessee Consortium for International Studies. I develop learning strategies with faculty across Tennessee and pair media students with working professionals in Europe. 2011 Class Blog – Netherlands | VPT Travel Abroad Blog
